As a Multicultural Service Officer at the Department of Human Services, Di Hong Lam connects with culturally and linguistically diverse communities to update them on the latest changes to policies, payments and services.
Through this role, Di Hong has seen first-hand how radio can help the department reach more people. He has been presenting on SBS Cantonese and Mandarin radio and a range of other community stations, like Sound of Hope, for almost nine years.
“Some of the programs I’ve presented on can have up to thirty or forty thousand listeners daily!” Di Hong said.
“Listener feedback has been that it makes them feel supported, and gives them more confidence on their journeys here in Australia.”
