The Department of Human Services has appointed Michael McNamara to the role of Chief Information Officer.
Mr McNamara joins the department from the ANZ Bank, where he has been part of the Technology Executive Leadership team in a variety of senior roles since 2015 including his most recent role as Chief Technology Officer for the bank.
He has previously held technology transformation, consulting and senior managerial roles globally, successfully delivering complex transformation agendas.
Mr McNamara will start with the department in January 2019.
Charles McHardie will continue to act as CIO in the interim.
